An update to my application after playing security for even more.
First off, I've tried the "leader" role. Every shift that had HoS missing, the first thing I did after equiping myself was checking out security team in SecMate and writing their names in a notepad. This way I knew how many we had and could do a radio response check to make sure everyone's safe. I was also making sure that every reported crime had an officer overseeing it.
The reason why I started doing this was a shift where captain Kaminsky asked us if someone would like to be a temporary HoS of this shift. I volunteed and started the "leading" thing from that moment. Even with an actual HoS, I'm still trying to keep track on things, but not as much, focusing more on my personal cases.
What I learned from this: it's hard to keep track on everything when being busy myself. I often ignored or didn't noticed crime reports on the radio. Someone(either non-sec or sec) reported something on the radio and noone responded to it. Maybe someone checked it out without saying so on the radio, but I was too busy with my case/thing that I was doing to check it.
I also had a lot of fun being undercover and I learned some stuff from it. I made a 2 in-game paper long guide placed on persistent board on goon3 so others going undercover won't do the same mistakes, where the biggest one was too low communication about going undercover. I was often just saying it to one officer/HoS and that's it, not even notifing command/HoP about it while trying to get new fake ID. I also learned to ask for Centcom printout, as it could give an idea which department could have a criminal and where I could go as an undercover job.
I wasn't introducing color-coded arrest alerts I mentioned in my application in my shifts. While the idea is nice, I don't feel that it's super needed. Good communication on the radio should be enough. If I become a HoS, I'll try that for sure once or twice by informing and teaching team about them and see how it goes.
