I can't say I've ever used the darned thing.
But I certainly have had lots of AI rounds noticing the scramble to find a scanner that isn't actually just a printer. With nobody having any clue what the mechanic is talking about.
It certainly seems like it should be added to list of things that is done when modernizing things when mapping, and putting it in the mech lab or dorms/cybercafe/officey areas in the respective maps.
