Fungal Limitations

The idea in general seems like a fun silly idea to grow "mushrooms' in damp places.
But.. how do we implement it?
Do they just grow on the ground?
Maintance areas only?
How do they interact with the world?
How do they spawn?
How do you maintain em?
Will Janitors go nuts?

It's abit too vague what you want exactly.
