but doesn't the scream cost some dna? Even if a mostly insignificant amount? That pretty much balances out "indefinetly by spamming their scream".

If i remember it only costs 1 point of DNA. So for each human you eat you can scream ten times. And it does have a considerable cooldown for an effect that mostly just makes people run around and be even more randomly evasive while filling you with lasers.

Maybe if it gave them a trembling hand effect too, out of fear that prevents them from picking up and holding onto things well.
