The main thing this would be used for is spectating scientists every round till one of them makes secret chems.

Secret chems aren't top secret, it's more of a spoilers policy that allows chem to have their own puzzles and incentivises them to socialise. You can look spoiler lists up right now and get them if you really want them, especially after the gooncode leak they're easy to find. People don't do this because solving the puzzles for themselves is more fun.
