I don't think the cameras can outright see the ID. Let's not go all SOPA over the ID tracking on cameras - if the cameras would indeed track IDs they should only do it with a sampling frequency of 1 minute and ONLY if said ID is on a belt or hand slot and ONLY if a camera can see you at the time of sampling. This way, someone wanting to hide their mischief would only have to take the ID off and it's realistic because I wouldn't expect a security camera to spot the name on an ID in my backpack/pocket. Remember, knowing 100% who did what throughout the entire game is kind of a funkill.
