Chaplain Vs Halloween monsters

I played a round as a chaplain who dispensed food via the synthesiser to the laity, however when I encountered skeletons I only had my Bible , which I thought would smash them, I nearly died, the Bible didn't seem to do much and had to fall back on trusty faith. I'm not sure if this is deliberate but I'm pretty sure the chaplain should smack about  the Halloween undead like he does antag undead.
