This could be neat, yeah. Absolutely should have a chance to fall over and crush you, or electrocute you from broken electronics, or cause you to bleed after you punch some broken glass in the vending machine.
On a related note, a small chance for items to get stuck in the vending machine would be hilariously annoying, requiring a few good hits to shake it loose and possibly causing it to fall on you in the process.
