Not sure what the current state of Oshan Toxins is, however, I think that this issue has a potentially easy, albeit somewhat-but-not-really complicated fix:
Essentially, build a big 'ol vacuum chamber around the burn chambers and add a space between the chambers and the lab. This would surround the burn chambers with a vacuum rather than heat-absorbing water. Additionally, magic atmosphere-deleting tiles (that don't work when wet) could be added to this vacuum chamber to keep it as a vacuum chamber.
