there is in fact an admin verb that gives the AI legs and allows it to do just this (its pretty broken in that the legs take priority over moving the AEye like 90% of the time so could do with some fixes). i think its a good idea
Well it would just need a bit of coding that when in that mode the arrow keys would move the AI as opposed to move the camera, and it won't go back to the way it was until the AI remounts somewhere... which does mean if the AI is running away from danger that it can't really take requests from humans, so that violates law 3, but at the same exact time I don't know of any player that's going to complain that "oh the AI wouldn't stop running away from that Syndicate trying to kill it to open a door for me, please jobban him for life."
