i agree with this, i'm tired of seeing features and patches that are broken because the codebase is too old
edit: and forcing there to be a coderluminati who are the only ones allowed to see actually relevant code to make it not broken is worse for the patchers and for the SuperPatcher™ dispatched to fix mistakes they physically could not avoid making
