Or, alternatively, instead of having a headspider at all, the changeling's dying body should just implant someone random within a decent sized radius with no message. So, like, if an angry mob beats the changeling to death then any one of the mob could get a secret infection that would let the dead changeling take them over. And they won't know who it is. Might spread a little paranoia instead of the current reaction to someone getting headspidered, which is "Welp looks like we're heading to medbay".
