If we're going to set up a power-hungry Arc Smelter, how about setting up a power-distribution system too? Think Microwave Transmission, Engineering has a console and a machine that beams radiation to a specific spot on the mining outpost, which provides miners with power.

I'm all for having a giant lazer beam to play with.
