De-shit the ai shells
#1
whoever removed the jetpack function from the ai shells is a megashit, put it back, it's really fucking frustrating to get stuck in space and float to and sit stuck on the edge of the z level.

Give the ai shells the magnetractor the ghost drone has.

Also let them pull things and select their active hand with the number keys.

Yes. This is the worse problem with AI shells.

AI controlled cyborgs can pull things. Bug a roboticist or the MD. Nothing gets them listening faster than no power.

AI shells are supposed to be shit...

They literally used to have every function suggested thus-far (except the number keys thingy), and were removed because shitty power-gaming AI's would supercop antags/other people with their shells, rather than let the crew deal with it. You're the AI, not a cyborg but if you want a useful body that badly, just ask the roboticists to build you one.

Also that's a fast way to get people to dislike you/get yelled at Ultimate Shrek Fan!

AI shells should be less useful than borgs, i agree, but at the moment they're TOO shit, hell if i recall correctly their multitools don't even work properly. If there isn't anyone willing or able to build you a borg, you're left with practically no way to interact with the environment like a normal player, and god help you if you accidentally let your shell drift off into space.

Also, i am dead against removing features when the problem lies with the players rather than the features themselves.

AI shells, to me, are mostly for recon. I wouldn't mind if they had nothing since we now have borg shells.

The lack of a jetpack is a bug tho, iirc.

The lack of a jetpack is a bug, yes.

Get rid of them and give the AI one Borg body to start off with IMO.

Would be easier than fixing the shells.

Jetpack and fart bugs fixed.

ai shells can stay shit if people insist, but make them printable from robotics fabricators cheaply and quickly with no assembly required, so they become the easy no-effort alternative to borg shell making. the current amount of assembly required for a body with so few functions helps ensure they see no play, so just make them easier to print out

oh yeah, and we should be able to stick peoples brains in them as punishment

maybe they could become the base model of the remote-controllable robots people sometimes clamor for, and receive tool changes then

It's like flying around a cluwne, except less useful because you can't drag people to the gibber or pull a crate full of rats to genetics. He's like a meat cube that doesn't have the decency to be disgusting (and they can pull things! I think.) His biggest use is to open id lockers and get toasted by nukeops trying to screw the bomb.

I just want to move a thing to a place without having to nudge it like a caveman and hope I don't accidentally sokoban it into a corner.

AI Shell's inability to pull things is the most frustrating thing in this game.

Please remove it, dear God.
