New Bulky Artifact
#1
This is mostly for the admins. I found a new bulky artifact type that isn't on the wiki and I want to put it on the wiki but I want to know if it's like a secret or something? Just tell me if there is a secret artifact you don't want put on the wiki. It was a really cool artifact too.

What are the effects? For curiousity purposes.

I'm no admin or Goongod, but something you could do to resolve the wether or not you could add it to the wiki without being a spoilsport is to check the code release od march.

See if the artifact you have discovered matches any of the descriptions of the ones in these lists:
https://github.com/goonstation/goonstati...t_machines
https://github.com/goonstation/goonstati...fact_items
https://github.com/goonstation/goonstati...ct_objects

If it does, then the information is already publicly available through means other than the wiki. In which case, in my opinion, you should add it. Nobody will be able to say you revealed secret knowledge.

It is indeed in one of those lists, time to add it to the wiki then. I used said artifact yesterday on the escape shuttle as a traitor RD.

EDIT: Pretty sure you were in that round medsal, not sure if you were actually doing stuff though.

Wiki updated, for reference though: The artifact I discovered is a turret, it shoots people and monkeys and who knows what else that are nearby until it is left with nothing to shoot for a while, when it turns off. The one I turned on fired 'positron stings' which seemed to do loads of burn damage and killed monkeys after less than 10 shots. Hence I dragged it onto the shuttle, activated it, and hid in the command part. A mostly afk borg meant other people hid in the command part as well though. Then I pulled out my radbow, old hunting rifle and suppressed pistol and shot people. That was a good surplus crate.

I remember seeing those back in Cog1 a lot. There was one that did 1 damage so I put it next to a monkey in the bar.

The artifact spawn list seems to have been made funky, I haven't seen one of those artifacts on Cog2 yet, and almost every handheld artifact I find is a beaker.

turret artifacts turn up occasionally, theyre nice, i like them. i wish some of the tons of noisemakers, lightmakers, forcefieldmakers, and prisons that turn up could be replaced by them.

There's also the wish artifact which may have been admin spawned? I don't know
You could wish for money or power, money shat out stacks of rainbowy credits that did weird things if you tried to separate them, power gave you a roll of random genetic powers

I think wishmakers can genuinely appear without admin intervention, but they're insanely rare.

Yeah I've had them pop up a couple of times. They've always been the evil wishmakers though, turning people into gold statues and so on.
