making the port-a-genes buildable by mechanics would help, though there is still the problem of people hogging the resources for injectors, its already bad enough fighting two other people for resources when doing genetics, and the budget usually gets spent very quickly.

also giving geneticists a way to directly add their own private funds to the research budget would be nice. that way geneticists can sell organs and limbs from dead bodies to space robots for more cash for injectors.

Like, the store gene thing I think was supposed to help alleviate that, but I don't see anyone working together on that.
