Nicotine spasms aint cool
#1
I don't know about you stiffs, but I suck those space cigs down like a chimney on Christmas Eve. And I do it to look like a cool kid Heh.
But how am I supposed to look cool when I'm twitching around like some kind of fucking spaz off his meds?

Hell even the shitty knockoff no-nicotine brand still jitters you up but good (not that I've dared to smoke those rolled turds)

now I'm going out for a dart, fix it before I get back i'm a cowboy baby

space cigs taste good like a cigarette should

It's hard to be a cool detective when you're a jittery nerd.

Maybe replace the shaking with a shortness of breath? As in, you start to take O2 damage if you run around too much without breaks to catch your breath.

Give some warning flavor text before that happens and have the character talk in small text.

Please no, it's hard enough navigating the hole riddled station when you're unwilling to swap your pro-puff for internals.

Maybe a stamina penalty then?

Conversely, decrease the lethality threshold of nicotine. While it's a neat way to finish off people, it requires an entire vending machine's worth of patches to inflict.

I neither want to keel over after one square nor live after half a box of patches are stuck to my arm. crossarms

How about every role that starts with a mithridatic alcohol resistance (detective, HoS, barman, cap'n) also has a built-up tolerance to nicotine withdrawal? Smokin' and drinkin', drinkin' and smokin', in space.

I never take the opportunity to use my pack of Pro Puffs as a detective due to the lingering fear that I'll end up getting knocked out and having some idiot take my gun/hat. I like the idea of nicotine withdrawal resistance.

Pfft real drug users grab the antipsychotic from medbay + mannitol to fix the jitters.

Nicotine isn't even good for anything, the whole purpose of it is to make smoking look bad, as its a terrible idea to smoke it, I mean every drug has horrific ramifications and will probably contribute to killing you horrifically, for example, bath salts does significant toxin damage, meth and crank do brain damage and can cause you to OD and die (can confirm), weeds flat out incapacitating, LSD causes extreme confusion, omega weed is flat out toxic as shit, and krokidil will kill you without use of salicic acid.
