See title. Sort of curious, and also always up for discovering new groups for me to listen to.
Most of my musical tastes fall under varying spots on the rock/metal spectrum, with System of a Down, Lamb of God, Radiohead, and Deftones being some of my favorites. I'm also pretty big on electronic music like Celldweller and Blue Stahli, and make it a personal obligation of mine to try and smack some sense into people who think all electronic music is automatically "dubstep". No. That's dumb. Stop that.
I like me some rock. Bands like Audioslave, Soundgarden, Trocadero, Nirvana, Alice in Chains, and Weezer are what I usually listen to. I also liked the album, Toxicity, by System of a Down, but that's really all I like from them. Though during the times I don't want to listen to rock I usually go with Pet Shop Boys, Erasure, and Weird Al. There are some good video game soundtracks out there too that I listen to on occasion. The Sonic series has really held up when it comes to making music, the Halo series has a great soundtrack, except Halo 4 that game is just pure garbage, and Maximum Carnage for SNES the music in that game is really fucking upbeat and is just ripoffs of real music, but its still pretty damn good.
I listen to a lot of progressive rock, political hip-hop, electropunk, musique concrète, krautrock, jazz fusion, symphonic poetry, dream pop and vapourwave.
Video game music. Alot of older JRPGs had great music. Chrono Trigger, Wild Arms, Xenogears. All those great songs. I love video game OSTs also remixes are great too. Lately when I play SS13 I listen to the Initial D Best Selection album. Love that album so much, all the best Initial D tracks remixed together into a great album.
Send me specific examples, Bologna Prime and I have been compiling a massive Game Music playlist with some of our favourites, and we're always looking for more content. This goes for anyone. Feel free to check it out! https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=P ... KgmTT7Bv7t
