Re-add gang and conspiracy to secret

Gang is kind of broken to be honest. I mean its fun, but I don't think it should be a normal round type. Everyone is too murder happy to make it fun outside of the occasional admin run round imo.

That's the thing, gang let's players vent. It's a nice mix where gangs fight while the crew is caught in the middle.

I think gang would be better if it was only two or so gangs with a cap of maybe 5 or 6 members (or lower), but put them in with normal traitor rounds.
So you'd have normal traitors, wizards, changelings or even syndicate agents running around along with a small group of gang members.
That way the gangs are not the main focus of the round and not everything goes to shit.
Plus there would sometimes be the common enemy for gang cooperation, or maybe they would strike a deal with the other types of traitors. It would be much more interesting at least.
Gang members should behave as if they are miscreants and not mess up for the normal crew too bad, and ideally not outright kill the other gang members unprovoked.

this sounds pretty cool. maybe make them buffed up miscreants with more destructive, group oriented objectives? ones that can preferably be tracked

This is a really great idea. How far should the gangs be able to go with helping traitors? Breaking them out of Sec? Hiding bodies for them?

I've started my own private miscreant gang the Tunnel Snakes as an assistant during a few rounds. We had a secret base in the maintenance tunnels and mugged people with knives and wore matching black jumpsuits.

If you want a miscreant gang during regular rounds, try starting one!!

Other than that, I don't think either gang or conspiracy is much fun as-is and they need some work if we're gonna put them back into rotation

The Gangs should be free agents, equally free to help antagonists as to hinder them. Ideally, the gangs should try to recruit at least one. Would make it intresting to see a gang fight where one side has wizard or the other a changeling.

I've done that too as a traitor. Just bought a bunch of mind slave implants and bee suits and formed the Killer Bees.

Having a gang leader spawn among changelings and wizards would be interesting. Cap the locker to about three to four people, same as spy, and watch a couple of goofballs in Genki heads try to tag up a station swarming with wraiths and golems.

you could do this gang thing without it being a special role, anyone could just find some special outfits and some pals and do it

since we're talking about adding antags to mixed, whatever happened to predators?

Gang is shit because it just has everyone in the gangs beat the fuck out of everyone who's not in the gangs, regardless of what the actual rules for gang are supposed to be.
