The potential of VR
#1
I am just going straight to the point.....VR sucks as it currently is and NO ONE ever uses it other than admins/people want to use it for a dumb gimmic.I can see only really a few things a person can do to make VR more fun/useable

1-Tear down the go-cart racer thingy and allow people to buy go-carts in the station...Then replace it with a huge VR arena for fighting....Kinda like the battle dome from mushroom

2-Make an special VR pod that allows the player to design something for the other players to use....This places them into a blank area and gives them a special tab that allows them to place down items, guns, monsters and special machines that they make new shit light coding (Would blocky coding system work in byond with it crashing????) for the regular VR players to play in (This is my Favorite idea because then anything could be possible)

3-Make the go-cart track smaller and add more random small shit like a shooting score attack range or a D&D room so people can play D&D for a round without idiots interupting......

5-Just do away with Vr and make it a blank place for admins to do random gimmics/ add a new telescience area

there's already a bunch of space for these anyway so removing it entirely seems kinda pointless

One of the primary reasons people don't use vr is because unless they're in a vr pod they're prone to getting dicked over by random assholes. Hell, even in the pods they're liable to get yanked out by nerds while they're in the middle of enjoying adventures. If you're using goggles, it won't matter how well you're hidden, someone's going to find you and steal your shit and probably kill you.

Yes to all of this.

This is also a problem, but I think we can make the VR arcade a safer place.

Yes to all of this.

So....do number 3 and allow the players do all of it and if the admins want to use it for a special adventure gimmic they can delete the special game desiner pod?

Also isn't marqesus adding a special adventure kit for admins? That would be perfect if it could also be for players to use in a game desiner pod!

Sorry I guess I should have clarified. Yeah, the go-kart track is too big for something that hardly gets used. A smaller track would be better.

As far as a VR admin lite pod, that would be fun for the flexibility of letting someone build junk in VR, but there would definitely have to be limitations so someone just doesn't make 10,000,000 bees. Another more likely option would be some kind of list of preset scenarios/environments that fill up a room with NPCs, items, and puzzles and traps. They could be as simple as a room with weapons and clowns to murder, to some kind of dungeon crawl telescience training simulator.

Well i just saw the new Adventure zone thingy in action (Marquesas built a cool little adventure zone!) and with some careful planning to stop people from being shit with it.....An Vr admin lite pod to build shit for other players to play in would be VERY possible and VERY fun!

Well the one kind of useful use of VR is the Toxins bomb simulator. Although that really needs some kind of countdown or a way to actually trigger the bomb, takes way too long if you're not sure if the bomb will actually do anything.
Anyways, Job simulations and virtual tutorials seem like a good tool for a lot of jobs. E.g. a medic could either be led through a series of standard treatments with instructions on what he has to do or treat a virtual patient that spawns with random injuries. Engineers could get a virtual engine to play with, mechanics could learns some basic build procedures, geneticists could be led through the cloning procedure, etc. A lot of these uses would be easily accomplished by just copying the actual workplace and reducing the clutter a bit. Actual tutorials would be a bit more work but might help to get newbies up to speed. The question would be how far these simulations go, if it should be possible to learn illegal procedures / secret stuff that way.
As for the dangers of using it, well, I wouldn't make it too safe. Maybe make it so you notice someone touching you while in VR so you don't get dragged off /robbed without any chance of doing something about it.

If the adventure pack ever gets added into VR....most if not all of these will be possible (I hope)
