make it where you can scan whole tank transfer bombs with a bomb scanner, single tanks, and canister bombs into a VR storage like on a table so you can have multiple bombs in VR, put a reset button in the VR, and add more glasses.

I agree with this. It's garbage that despite all the rules against testing bombs on the station, we have no choice but to do that because the VR has no Singletank or Canister Bomb support (granted Canister Bombs are fairly new-ish, but Singletanks have been around for ages now).

I'm totally for updating VR's testing capabilities, but you have plenty of choices. Like anywhere off station. You're welcome, bro.

An improved VR room would be great, not just for accepting new bombs, but also one that is redesigned to provide a better testing environment. One with several rooms with different walls and floors, all with range markers.

I thought single tank bombs were weak and used the testing chamber.
I was wrong.
(this would be neat)

I made that mistake when I was first starting out with singletanks, tucking it into the bottom-left corner of the testing chamber. The wall-destruction radius came within a hairsbreadth of the RD's office.
Singletanks are a lot meaner than you'd think. They may not punch holes in the hull, but they still blow out wall plating and limbs like any other explosion!

That particular incident stems from the crystal (and simple) glass having no resistance to explosive force whatsoever. If unobstructed it has a pretty good chance of taking out a wall at the other end of a corridor, which is pretty much like a real explosion shockwave.
But yes, VR update is needed. Although it will take up heck of a lot of space if a canister bomb test range is built.

Perhaps a "digitizer" that can "turn an item virtual" by teleporting it from a designated tile in the science lab to a designated tile in the vr testing chamber.
The digitizer can't be used on humans unless emagged and sparks obviously when it is

I'm going to have to put you on the game grid.
But a TRON inspired revamped VR space for testing and recreation would be great, and the digitizer would be the easiest solution to moving items in and out for testing not just bombs, but also any other thing you might want to bring in there.

The best idea I've heard in a long time.

How hard is it to go test on the derelict zlevel. urgh.
If you are really really scared of accidents, I guess a derelict with a bomb lab would be way better than some telesci area. We already have two derelict chem labs!

I miss Zeta for that, was a great place to learn bombs if you had the gear for it.
