The thread of things that we want cut or changed.

There has been a lot of smaller PRs or threads about things you want changed or cut that honestly come down to "Thing bad" then go "Thing no need to be removed!"

Since we have a thread on items that cannot be rebuild/removed.
How about we just list some items that need to be changed/removed from the old feature list insted of making new PR/topics on them insted.

Now the point of this thread to put down things we should change/remove and SMALL THINGS like Traits/small interactions/features that aren't used/fun.

Example: "The church organ"
While cool, it plays random songs.. so if you want to do a funeral music and it decides: "WEDDING SONG" it ruins the RP atomsphere... it's barely used due to this. It needs to be changed to a full instrument, allowing us to pick the song or removed since... it's not always there.

I have a small list of things I want changed or removed. I want the topic to write down things for the list of changes/removal and small reasoning.

Short snappy and no need to start full on topics so we can all look at this and go.. huh.
We can always start indivual topics on these smaller things later.

My list so far is:

- Church Organ
- Juke Box
- Bowling Kit
- Room Desginator
- Blueprint Maker
- No gravity sickness (needs a change/trait)
- Jetpack usage (needs a change)
- Zoldorf (other topic stolen)

That's all for now. Please add to this list so we can streamline smaller things.
This topic doesn't apply to full on department changes or larger features. Just smaller things/objects/interactions and their reasoning should be simple when you look at it.

A single change, which just moved departmental tasks from one job to another, spawned a 9 page discussion. Do you really think a "thread to lump in all things people want gone" is going to work out?

EDIT addendum: I just noticed the unusual immediate 1/5 rating, so I voted and with basic math calculated that a single person gave said rating, mysterious.

Anyway, 
not old, or at least that old. 

But why isn't Ephedrine whitelisted, this is eating me like cats the face of their dead owner. 
It's just a weaker analogue of Epi, which is whitelisted and the precursor to Methamphetamine, which is, also whitelisted. 
It's literally (in some countries) still used for nasal drops. 
There are chems I see debatable why they shouldn't be whitelisted, there many more that reasonably aren't. 
Its lack of direct availability is totally acceptable, although a hacked Mini-Nano could sell it, for maintenance tunnel meth labs. 
But Ephedrine is just keeping awake with how obvious it's for my taste, just let me Epi^2.

Nope. But this is more for oversight for everyone to decide.
Otherwise every topic will start long debates. If we can isolate it in 1 topic where we know the name of the game it's much easier.

Also I asked to refrain from these kinda things. Just put things to the list of smaller things we can look over.

Anyway Epihirine needs a change? Got it.

a slight rebalance of listening post gear / prices. Rng stock is kinda annoying to plan around. signal jammers are too cheap (should be similar to the holographic disguiser at 5k) armored spacesuits are a bit too pricey imho (25k for helmet or spacesuit should maybe be 25k for both as a set?). That, or add stock limits to CARL (ie max 5 signal jammers stocked per round)

True, the recent discussions just left a sour taste in my mouth, and my gut reaction was like that would pour oil in the fire.

Anyway, my list of bigger things i think need removal/rewrite/rework:

- Limb code (I just left that place for a PR... horrid, that needs an internal rewrite)
- Botany Tray Homeopathy (The mechanic where chems never truly deplete from trays. That one is actually a load-bearing bug in chemistry code. It will require a new mechanic to replace the lost set-and-forget mechanic)
- Quantum Telescope Pity mechanic (Repeatably denying the rewards from the Quantum Telescope just to be offered a starstone asteroid is not an enjoyable process for the miner and kinda feels like mechanic-abuse, even if it is intentional)
- Scientist. That role has almost no goal on the station and is mostly a "fuck around and cause problems" department. They need a system to give whatever they are doing a goal and a meaning. And i say that with scientist being one of my most played roles.

Oh shit, how could I forget this one as a medic main, because it's truly ancient. 

Chest Cavity Implant Surgery:

"Only items of from size tiny to normal, from flashlights to boxes, can be implanted. Things like saxophones, pills, drinking glasses, and other things that already have an effect upon applying it to a player cannot be implanted. (Consider this less a feature and more a long-standing bug that's difficult to fix.) "

I don't think this is something that is easily fixed and being only a "minor" limitation of a working feature, just gives it a really low priority. 
But man, so many possible shenanigans when the if becomes an is.

This is not a "just removal topic"
More a list of things we want to see removed or changed.

Like if you see something and goes: This could be neat but.. it just lacks something, needs a small change to be amazing.
Just list it here.

Besides the smaller things we remove/change, the more we can see the bigger things shine.

So don't forget, if you see something and goes: "This feels bad, would be cool if changed."

Polymorph gene should be removed and changing into someone elses identity without explicit consent should be considered an antag only move.

Bagpipes and harmonicas. They're both using copywrote sound clips and get videos struck down it muted and are way too loud

Having more clicking area for airlocks to close them.  This could mean just adding almost transparent pixels so you do not have to be very precise with the cursor -- or right-click -- to interact with an open airlock.  This is especially notable for exterior airlocks that have no energy shields to prevent atmos diffusion (Ex: radio station)

pharmacist auto-injectors
not removed, changed
now that they cost 0.1 metal and you can't refill expended ones, it's just a material sink, and it's a pretty expensive one at that
add some kind of auto-injector reclaimer in medbay or hell maybe just a standalone machine for printing and reclaiming auto-injectors because they also clog up the medical fab

also change the auto-injector filler you can't even empty it into a beaker after you fill it with a chemical it really feels as though something in this must've been rushed
