Irreplaceables & Immortals: A List Of Shit To Fix

This thread is an attempt to consolidate all things found on the station that players cannot feasibly deconstruct, replace, or build more of. People are encouraged to submit such things they find to me or this thread, so that I may add them to this post.

Notably, my intent here is solely to consolidate these lists for the convenience of those who may make PRs to help make more things replaceable/breakable. I may make a couple such PRs myself, but certainly not enough to cover everything here.

Irreplaceable/Unbuildable, should probably be fixed
Window blinds
MULE beacons
The links between buttons and doors
Mail junctions, mailtags included
Colored disposal/brig/mail/etc pipes
Thindoors (immortal, should probably also be buildable)
APC power terminals
Towel bins
Couches
Carpet/cotton floor tiles (using steel works but has discoloration, and you can't make "cotton" floor tiles)
Landing strip lights (the ones outside pod bays and stuff, currently breakable but unfixable)

Immortal things missing the ability to be deconstructed (without explosives)
Window blinds
Thindoors
Blast doors??
Couches
Towel bins
Landing strip lights(?)

Undecided/Controversial
Blast doors/shutters(?)
Mainframe(?)
Turrets (armory, upload, etc.)
Mass Drivers
Autoloaders (the things that shove you onto and then trigger a mass driver)
Floor loading chutes (like in the brig or Kondaru's belt hell)
Pod bay control remote thingy


If you disagree with if something should be changed, feel feee to discuss. These lists are partially formed by my personal opinion, and are NOT official requests for fixes; if you make a PR adding deconstruction flags or whatever to something here, it'll still be subject to coder review.

The blinking outside lights, present on a few maps but especially cogmap2
You can break them but you'll get an error if you try to deconstruct (for some reason) or even try to replace the light bulb so they start working again

Clothing booth, if its gone its gone even simple PDA explosions can take it down while someone is inside them.

-Artifact research console.
-Crematorium and its igniter button.
-Gas mixer control.
-Gas meters.
-Printing press.
-Desktop computer-frames. Only obtainable from already existing personal computers.
-IR detectors, specifically those found around the armory/AI core or nadir's arrivals and escape.
-Nano-crucibles and nano-fabricators. The latter is deconstructable, but not replicable afaik.

A few others that I'm unsure if they're relevant:
-Portable computers. They're map/azone dependant, though the personal laptop variant is purchasable from a trader, so this might be a non-issue.
-Security communication arrays. Unsure if it's only structures that are wanted here, but I believe these are not obtainable outside of spawned security pods.

Stages, they're used to show "raised" areas but should be removable/replacable nontheless.
Armory authorisation computer, becomes impossible to auth if its destroyed.

Security pod comms 🫠 If someone blows up both of security's pods, someone has to constantly be opening/closing the podbay from inside and that's a pain if the rest of security is busy. Been mentioned before that maybe it can go in the HoS locker or armory or something.

can't they just put the blueprints for the security pod communicator in security somewhere

One thing that I’ve wanted to be removable/movable for awhile is borg chargers, you can’t decon them or unwrench/unscrew and I think it would make the Borg converter a bit better if you could put it where the borg chargers were. Plus it would be nice to put a borg charger a bit closer to mining sometimes as borg, maybe it’s just because I don’t play borg enough but half the time it feels like I’m scouring for a charger nearby so I don’t have to go all the way back to robotics.

You can deconstruct them with a decon tool and build new ones by scanning with mechanics.
