make rubber tree + cotton plant splice create a plant that makes synthleather because you have to alloy rubber with cotton to make synthleather

grenade tree for botany. makes biological grenades that scale in power with potency, but so does the tree. every harvest there is a 10% chance you accidentally pull the tree's pin and it explodes with 3x the force of its harvest
infusing things like capsaicin, phlogiston or flash powder change the grenade type (crowd dispersal, incendiary, flashbang)

I think giving bombs the "chance to explode if you interact with them in any way" thing is a pretty bad way of balancing them out. I can't think of any better choices at the moment but accidental detonations should only ever be due to the users incompetency.

Actually that's reminding me to suggest one of my past ideas. Make tomatoes apply touch/skin penetration on chemicals when thrown at people.

New type of mixed round mixed(faction). It will spawn only human antags such as wizard, spief, traitor, or/and salvie. No midround intruders, except wizards and salvies. Critter antag may spawn. More chances for sleeper to roll.

Disable the cloning pod access locks if the shuttle is coming, allowing people to get to the shuttle on time when being cloned for the price of not being fully healed

Not related but nobody else has sent anything here since I last did.

Add randomized traits to the character creator too. I know it's a TG kind of thing but I think it'd be fun, like having mildly mutated but for even more stuff.

since this is the bad ideas thread i will give my two cents on this even though im not sure this is whag you meant

Aspiring Engineer: gives you 3 random orange frames. could be an emitter, could be a sectech vendor, could be a phone

Revoked Medical License: start with a d.i.y. medkit that holds 7 random medicine / healing items. syndie medic injectors, omnizine injector, styptic/sulf patches, medical chems of any sort in syringes, etc.

Avid Collector: trinkets are now labelled "Limited Edition" "Collector's edition" or "Signed" and draw from a larger pool with more exotic items (wait didn't i say something similiar before)

I thought it would've been self explanatory that I meant randomized traits just like the random name / random appearance settings (so you'll get a random selection of preexisting traits upon spawning in) but I guess I should've explained that further.

also lol yea they should add juggernaut injectors to a roundstart trait

ah that checks out

i mean, they didn't get their medical license revoked for nothing. i do like rng traits like petasusaphilic that occasionally give you good items which is mostly what i thought of when i heard "random traits"
