How about the initial Blobling max count is 1 + 1 per nucleus the Blob has. Cultists are not included in this.
So 1 nucleus gives up to 2 bloblings.
2 nuclei up to 3 bloblings,
3 nuclei up to 4, etc.

It'd really depend on exactly how tough the bloblings are, in my head I imagine them to be around the same level as a Changeling Leg-thing

I was thinking about trying to see if I could get an admin's help to run a pseudo-test version of this game mode, where there's a single blob and 2-4 conspirators working together to consume the station. It shouldn't require any special coding to work I believe.
