I was interested in the crafting system today, and ended up doing some code diving. It looks like the workbenches for the materials crafting were removed. Can we put them back in? Materials crafting seems like it could be one of the game's best features. Idk whether they need any cleanup or why the were removed. Without them, many items created by the nanofabricator are useless.

the things in the room with the nano fab which actually might just be the nano fabs, let you turn materials of the right type into the exact same things the workbenches had. except they have a better UI

conversely they don't retain the materials you make them from half the time

ACTUALLY. According to the 2016 leak (which may have since been changed of course) in order to material craft some things, such as heavy armour or the pod armour, you need the actual workbenches. The recipe for the heavy armour requires metal rods and the armour plate part, BUT trying to stick the rods in the nano fabs just hits the fabricators. So please either fix and re-add the workbenches, or make the nano fabs able to craft all the recipes.

were not using 2016 leak its 2017 now its diffrent.

The 2016 leak was before the materials revamp. All the recipes that workbenches had that are not on nanofabs will be added eventually.
