Masons were good for revealing station layouts and hidey spots before they got turned into whatever green thing they are now.
So I propose a fun gimmick item that does roughly the same thing except with a few changes.
Examining any safe or crate shows a couple buttons that have been pressed or could be the passcode.
Fake walls now become highlighted
Those invisible ink pen messages are revealed
A Zoom button that shifts the camera a few squares in whatever direction the player is facing, with areas that would be blocked still obscured.
These would basically be traitor goggles ideal for thieves and scoundrels. They'd probably look distinct enough to make them worth robbing from would be traitors because they're not normal goggles, although perhaps they could be concealed by a welding helmet with obscured vision.
