Goon servers you play: goon 4,3 depending on pop, and very rarely 1
Reason for application: To lead and guide the security team, whether as a HOS or the lieutenant class NTSC, i never thought i would ever apply considering how unrobust i was and still am but my experience taught me that it's not necessary at all as long as you make the round intressing or make sure that your underlings are doing that. I get that HOS is a very stressfull job and demands a lot from the player but i am feeling more confident i can make it work!
Security experience (300 word minimum): I had my fair share of my playtime in this department, from a humble security assistant to a security officer to detective, i've developed a decent sense of judgement over the course of time and can provide fair punishment for usual crimes, i have used most of security equipment including Stun weapons......of course, detective's forensics tools such as det gadget, and the utility ones such as recordTrak to add unregistered crew to the manifest and change arrest status. The amount of times you would hear that communication is key really reflects its importance as that would allow you to inform the team and in return receive some important informations too.
Teamwork is also key since antagonists get a lot of powerfull equipments and abilities and even if they didn't, some backup always helps! and during tough times when we get to authorize the armory i tend to get weapons that would help in said situations like tranqs for stims.
Being part of security isn't all about catching the bad guys, as oftentimes i have to save the crew by dragging them away from whatever space hazard they encountered, kill hostile critters, or even directly try to heal them or atleast delay thier death untill medical arrives with whatever i got including a baton for defib along with robust/unrobust donuts too.
As i said before being good at combat is not a requirement, losing can make the ones who do win against you thrilled at the cost of your own enjoyment, a price that i often times have to pay to make the rounds enjoyable. Besides, sometimes dying IS fun!
Contrabands are stuff that i often stuff(no pun intended) at contra locker, the absence of reports that state that the antag didn't use thier kestrel revolved to kill isn't really a valid excuse for me to simply let them keep it if i cought them with one, if its early in the round i may let them keep the less significant contra such as salvager spacesuit or a self defense flash assuming they didn't commit major crimes. The aim to improve the round is very different from intentionally neglecting your duties as an officer, it's still a good idea to not rob them out of everything and let them have said lower level contra assuming it's still early so they might make a comeback, and maybe even let them keep some that i usually would confiscate depending on the context.
Answer two or more of the following:
What advice would you give to other sec players?
You should go along with people's gimmiks or even make punishments based on them, Try to
Leave good impressions on peopel in general, seen a lot of new secoffs not quite get that concept which led the crew to complain, Your behaviour is just as important as the rest of your job! People are more willing to cooperate/help those who show trustworthiness and kindness.
What was one of your favorite security moments? (Either playing as a sec officer or interacting with one)
It was one of thosse times somene RP-ed as stirstir, i was captain during that round, me and HOS insisted that it was the real stirstir despite what the AI said, it started from a silly chase to get that monkey to the brig to it making our life hell, i would get rad poisoned the moment i enter thier range of sight and wouldn't even be able to get to the armory as it has been taken over, and after the shuttle launched it was TERRIFYING seeing them come back using escape pods slowly making thier way in, good thing HOS managed to knock them away for good! All of that because of ONE monkey!
"I am so gonna lose my job" they announced earlier.
There is also one where i was traped in a room by a borg and thier partner stormed in saying "HERE COMES JOHNNY!".
What game improvements or changes do you think would benefit security players?
I would like to see a rework for det_net VR goggles search ability as it requires full exact name/fingerprints, while secmate on the other hand only needs part of it, that's the one reason i pretty much stoped using it over its computer counterpart, detectives out there will really appreciate a change concerning that.
Another change i propose is to make it so you can track the location of where security alerts were sounded after you respond too said alerts, not nessecarily the current location of the victim as to not ruin it for the antags.
Answer one or more of the following fun questions (because it's important for the HoS to be fun):
What's a security gimmick that you've ran or wanted to run?
Old-curity officer, the idea is to play as a VERY old man who should probably be retired at that point, who has poor hearing and sight, great incompetence because of many other disabilities, and maybe some wisdom to make up for all the flaws.
Draw a picture!
Hope this one actually works as I've seen a lot of application suffer from this problem, if it doesn't use the following link instead.........which i also hope it works:
