Med/Sci
Doctoring/Surgery: I am excellently competent at keeping people alive, typically due to having everything needed for every type of damage, I am also capable of performing every type of surgery due to it mainly being following the wiki along with standard practices.
Robotics/Genetics: I am an extremely capable geneticist limited only by RNG, typically begging people to let me spit in the face of evolution give them superpowers for the first couple minutes of shift, then locking myself away in my mad laboratory cocoon til about 60 minutes in which I'll emerge as a genetic monstrosity stoppable only by mutadone rounds beautiful butterfly! All the while of course offering that same perfection to anyone with the time to wait for the machine to do it's thing. As for robotics, though it is simplistic I am quite good at replacing the disgusting weakness of flesh with the certainty of steel.
Chemistry: Similar to Bartender/Chef it is simply following the wiki, just with more steps and a higher likelihood of having to go out and obtain rare ingredients yourself. I have never found a chem I wanted to make but couldn't due to not being able to source it's ingredients.
Toxlab: I uhh... I know how to heat and cool gasses... never made a bomb that went off though, then again, only tried two or three times.
Telescience: Really good at it, both long range and short, typically have a stolen requisitioned space suit and jetpack set up courtesy of mining and any fun cosmetics from maints by about 10 minutes and then either yoink people who get lost or play round in the debris field.
Security:
I am competently robust and good at deciding how to go about things, the only complaints I've had from fellow security members are when I first started the job I was too harsh/overstepped and sometimes they don't like me getting the elite crate with the helmet cause it comes with the grenade boxes.
Command/General:
Command: When it comes to command it's more two roles in one, the departmental role, and the (for lack of a better term) bridge access role which mainly involves making sure the AI isn't rogued and being your departments emissary and voice to the Captain/Rest of Command. As for Captain, the way I see it at least, he is somewhat a security member, both typically being on the frontline (if only because the sword is cooler) of battles against major known threats. Other than that he basically just tries to make sure not Everyone is dying, preferably only about 30-40%.
General: I understand construction, matsci, how to use fabricators and nanofabs, hacking and other general stuff like that.
Antag:
This one really depends, I'm good with traitors, spiefs, sleeper agents, nukies, and fiends and am competent the rest but I have never had a wizard, gang leader, or rev head round

Okay in my defense I wrote this late at night and while semi distracted, and uhh... I don't think I can edit it so... darn, probably shoulda clicked preview post.

Reason
The main reason I am applying as mentor is to, contradictingly, learn more. I have familiarized myself with several jobs to the point of being at minimum above average, and I like to think I've mastered a couple. There are more things I can learn simply by reading the wiki, such as mechcomp, DWAINE, The esoteric monster that is the chemicompiler, etc. However most of those things I am content not knowing, at least for now. But there are rarely simple things that I learn, such as recently with how suspicious tomatoes function similarly to Tiercels (contradicting the wiki), or how it was only about several months ago I learned how to get a Oshan Engine set up. Not to forget there is also the midground, things simple and rewarding enough to be worthwhile to learn while still being too complex to stumble upon normally. Being a mentor would not only allow me to help people with the information I do have, but also learn more by observing the other mentors or seeing questions asked and doing my own experiments/building off them. I also enjoy teaching people and while I doubt I'd get as much enjoyment doing it through a textbox, I have several fond memories of teaching people all sorts of things, from ehem INSTRUCTIONS TO CREATE YOUR OWN PIPEBOMB (for mining I swear) or fixing the cap's gun etc.
Experience
Civilian
Botany: One of the jobs out of all departments I am most knowledgeable in is Botany, although it has been so long I cannot perfectly recall I do believe it was one of if not the first job I ever did on the station and is most certainly the one I have the most hours in. Although one can get by with just a basic understanding of "plant seed, harvest, repeat", to be a truly good botanist one must understand not only the more complex systems, but also the extensive possibility and potential interactions. Of which while I am not the most knowledgeable of, I certainly am up there.
Rancher: While not as much as Botany, I am a formidable rancher and have more hours than I should screaming about my chickens not being happy enough.
Chef/Bartender: While saying you are knowledgeable about these two fields isn't exactly anything to write home about, they could likely be done by an AI just reading the wiki, I have done enough of them both to have some go-tos I could whip up without having to read the wiki.
Janitorial/Mail Courier: These jobs have very little to be learnt about them, there are practically two steps, for Janitor, arm yourself with a bandolier of cleaning 'nades and cry to the QMs for a WAV-3, for Courier "I don't know who you are. I don't know what you want. have mail-oney, but what I do have are a very particular set of skills. Skills I have acquired over a very long career. I will look for you, I will find you and I will kill you deliver your mail."
Engineering
Quartermaster: I am quite the competent QM, typically making MAD stacks, my favorite methods of profit are as follows A.) Hoping and praying for a competent mining team| B.) Furniture requisitions requesting some odd amount of tools, light bulbs/tubes, furniture parts, and most annoyingly liquid carpet | C.) Buying Telecrystals/Sheets/Cloth from traders and waiting for them to go hot | And D.) Crayola Based Economy (art supplies crayon generator for writing utensils from wandering traders). Of course that all is just what I prefer, I am also fully capable of bullying Monetarily Incentivizing the other departments into helping me fullfill any reqs necessary.
Miner: I am the miner I wish to have as a QM, speedrunning the tech tree to full industrial and a big hammer. Although sometimes I get cursed by RNJesus (multiple different shifts have I found like 5 clarentine and then never again, or never even gotten any clarentine, to the point I started using electrum to make my stuff) however RNG willing I ensure that there will be enough of any given material to satisfy the insatiable lust of robotics for more bohrum and clarentine the other departments requests, typically while also getting a couple starstone.
Engineer: I am competent in setting up the simpler engines, can typically get a telenet (usually with around 8 nodes) down by 10-15 minutes, and am excellent with hull integrity repairs. However I am mostly unknowledgeable at mechcomp.
