Books on tape would be the similar to pocket guides, but instead they'd be step be step instructions on how to perform something. Just pop the tape in, and follow the instructions as the narrator describes what you need to be doing.
Multiple tapes. Have them come in series, like cocktails, food, DIY, etc.
Buy the tapes from a vending machine, as well as a personal tape recorder that has earphones you wear to hear the tape, with volume settings to increase and decrease the size of the tape text
