While playing a deaf miner with Midas Touch and Matter Eater, I noticed I had an engineering headset and a stack of credits available to be devoured, yet saw neither on my person.
I've come to the conclusion that spawning with an auditory embeds the previous headset into the spacepeep, unable to see the light of day, while offering listening to channels, such as security.
Also, that miners will spawn with their money stuck in their body, as both pockets are filled with guide books. Presumably, other jobs with two books will also have this.
