Minor Gun artifacts disappear (unknown if feature or not)

Recently, I found a Precursor artifact gun that was activated by touch, so I didn't have to damage it in any way. But, eventually, after somewhere in the realm of 10-20 shots (more if you count "click" shots), it dissapeared from the world entirely.

EDIT: Solved, turns out there's a decent chance that the artifact spawns with a fault like that, so put this in the "Features" section.
