So, this occured to me during a RP server round recently, I thought it was good enough of an idea to toss out and see if it can be done. I think we could expand the mining furnace to allow an experienced chef to cook "Large Food", perhaps having the slag shovel double as a way of putting it in and taking it out, with the food first assembled where you add the ingredients in a certain order (or in no order whatsoever) on a large metal sheet, then put it in the furnace with the slag shovel to cook for a certain time like the deep frier.
Alternatively we could just make a "super oven" that can be made by an engineer and have a specialised version of said slag shovel just for the super oven, but I am not entirely sure if we can reliably do that in the BYOND engine.
What do you guys think about it?

i think it would be neat
but also carry the risk of food tasting absolutely horrible/giving you food poisoning if you use a shovel that was recently used to remove slag

I, too, want to reenact
this scene and bake pizzas using the arc smelter or the engine itself with hilarious consequences.

Yes. I'm just getting into roles like bartender and chef and it amazes me what you can already achieve. Adding a special oven kit that can be ordered through qm, like the local generators, would be neat.
This is a MEGA MONSTER burger.
A burger big enough to feed a family of four. Heck, they could live inside this thing.

Could we replace the giant ham sprite, which as far as I know can't be eaten, with a cookable pig roast. e.g shove rod and apple in dead pig, throw in mining oven, pull out tasty pig roast.

Maybe some form of materials science should also apply to cooking?

If we're going to start combining materials science and cooking, we should be able to put viscerite into food processors to make Martian Meatballs.
I do really like the idea of using the arc smelter to make huge portions of food. Summon a space-pig using the teleporter, kill it, stuff an apple in its mouth, and roast it in the arc smelter. Engineering hosts a barbecue party!
Mechanics should be able to assemble spit roasts using gears and rods.

This would be cool for secret recipes, massive food, or even making foodie materials. Cheese armor anyone? Fuse a material with Cheese to make Cheese into a craft-able material with the Arc Smelter, so we can have cheese-armored pods, cheese floors and walls, or anything else.
