New chem idea: mustard gas
#1
The chemical formula for this doesn't seem too complex to implement, and it'd provide an interesting alternative to sarin, in that it wouldn't be obvious you were dosed right away. Basically after getting a whiff of mustard gas, after a while you'd start taking increasing amounts of burn and tox damage, and eventually eye and oxy damage as well if it's left untreated.

Let's not forget the forced screaming!

I always wondered why mustard gas isn't in goonstation, even when I first started. In real life all you need is bleach, ammonia and a plastic bag. (And before anyone screams at me for saying that. Blame King of the Hill or 8th grade chemistry)

I think to do this we do need plastic bags though. (Someone made a post about adding them in) Pretty much get a beaker of space cleaner, a beaker of ammonia, pour it into the bag, There you go.

I think you're thinking of chloramine gas, such as NH2Cl and derivatives. Mustard gas, (ClCH2CH2)2S is a very different process. cool
And really I think chloramine would be much more interesting and simple (space cleaner + Ammonia?). Although, I'd like to see more eye irritants in the game as getaway chems. Oculine doesn't get nearly enough (or any) use.

Space cleaner + ammonia for chlorine gas wouldn't make sense because space cleaner IS ammonia. Space cleaner + Sodium hypochlorite (aka bleach, NaClO) would make more sense. Maybe antibacterial / antiviral substances from pathology could substitute bleach + be makeable?

As for the original suggestion... I'm not sure. Maybe?

Whoa, whoa, If space cleaner is ammonia then why are they two separate reagents? And bleach just makes a lot more sense to mop the floor with.

The idea of mustard gas making people scream constantly and uncontrollably sounds incredibly hilarious.

I've always said we needed Chlorine Gas.

Space cleaner is ammonia + ethanol + something else i don't remember

Ammonia and Bleach are both cleaning agents, that's why you're supposed to be careful not to mix cleaning agents in an under-ventilated area

Mustard Gas should require Mustard as a reagent.
