I know they were kinda useless in their original form, but with department pda messaging they'd be a lot more useful for reviving crewmen who are smart enough to get implanted.

Also they could notify security of the death as well via PDA.

e.g Implant captain, now security and doctors know where to find his/her body.

it certainly would be nice. But it should say HOW they died. Not specifics, but like "Captain dumbo has died in the bar from fatal cardiac failure", Or maybe "assistant smartass has died in space from fatal heat exposure."
