Night Vision Upgrade for Borgs, why not?
#1
Question
It always bothered me as a Borg,

as a mechanical high-tech apparatus, your only source of light, is a flashlight.
There are all sorts of Visior Upgrades, a simple NV one would be satisfying enough.

Wondering, was this just an oversight, or am I overlooking something here?

You can get a meson upgrade that works as a kind of night vision. Actual NVs are restricted to the armoury, security utility purchases or specific antag roles, I don't think printing them from a robotics fab would be a good idea.

I mean, it would just be for Borgs, allowing for better navigation through maintenance and such.

Edit: No2 is also in the armory, but also in medbay. It's just not as weaponizable to ground it, because of that.

The meson works fine. If I want night vision, I would just get the meson upgrade.

Nightvision has a weaknesses to flashes and bright lights.
Cyborgs already have it. By that default setting they should have nightvision build in.

But seriously.. all borgs have a latern they can have on at all times since they technically have 3 arms.

Cyborgs have a weakness to flashes because they are designed to be weak to stuns. That doesn't mean they should get NV just because they share a weakness. Besides, they can already see through cloaking devices, i don't think giving maintenance_lurker_alarm_system.exe (original borg name do not steal) the ability to find every antag hiding in maintenance on top of that.

Mesons give roughly the same vision radius that NVs do, take mesons, a NV upgrade would just be straight up worse than mesons as mesons let you see structures through walls, NVs don't.
