Remove Wraith Objective: Kill (almost) everyone from rp
#1
I'll make my points here pretty quickly.

Wraiths sometimes get the objective to ensure no more than X crew escape the station. I feel this objective is bad for roleplay servers.

Often, when you're playing an antagonist for the first time, people usually look to their basic objectives to get an idea of what to do to learn about the antagonist. The wraith, while a powerful antagonist, often can't complete this objective in an RP setting where they are expected to engage with the station and instead are forced to play in a way I feel is really not all that fun for the other players, who will more often than not call the shuttle long before the wraith can get them to be stranded anyways.

I have yet to see any wraiths complete this objective, and I doubt many people even have the skill necessary to do it, considering how hard it is to get practice with the wraith as an antagonist. It also encourages new wraiths to play in a way that likely won't be very fun for the other players trying to roleplay, as this objective promotes mass-killing.

I understand objectives are optional, but newer players often use them to give them something to do. This objective will misguide them into playing Wraith in a way that I feel is unfun for the Wraith, as it's almost impossible. It also often puts all the crew's attention on them, resulting in a quick death if they're new due to mass salting. I feel it is also unfun for other players, who are endlessly harassed by living objects while trying to roleplay and barely get to engage with the wraith directly.

This objective should be removed from RP servers for wraiths for the reasons above. I want to note that traitors and other antagonists have had the objective to "escape alone" removed for similar issues, and I feel this wraith objective should also be removed for similar reasons.

Mass-killing isn't inherently anti-RP, and while a newer player may take this objective and run with it, I don't see that as a bad thing. How they engage with the crew and the objective is the key factor here.

Straightforward objectives like this are good for new players in my opinion, but it's just that, my opinion.

Ahelp problematic behaviors if you see it, but removing the Kill X People from the Killy antag seems counterintuitive.

Wraith is different than other antag where they tend to cascade into major massive dissaster on station. Where as other antag tend to be just one guy who has less ability to make major dissaster without doing a lot of things involved. Wraith can just write big spooky writing and there, station is haunted. It is also rare and only happen on highpop. Where as other antags, well, imagine if changeling has to escalate with 60 people to kill them all, that take times to do.

Even if you remove the objective, wraith is still strong like wizard is still strong. It won't stop chaos from happening, it won't stop how wraith works in general. It's less of the objective issue, it is just how wraith works. The rarity of the roll also made it that players want to maximize on what wraith can do, which involves... you guess it, killing through their ability. Don't want wraith chaos? Easy, remove it from RP, if people really want that

I've said it once and I'll say it again, the way wraith is now I feel isn't very RP friendly. wraiths inherently have trouble communicating directly and the stigma around em leads people to attack em if they DO make themselves visible to spook people. I think having a spook meter like how the halloween event has and giving players the objective to do that instead of straight up murder would be a viable option potentially. I don't exactly mind the murderhoboing wraith. I do mind how hard it is to deal with a wraith and how they can't really communicate effectively. Like if you TTV the station you have to escalate it properly beforehand and I feel like often a wraith doesn't/can't.

The problem with wraiths is the fact they are ment to snowball...before they can do the fun stuff.
Before Wraiths were a nuisance but they could be abit more passive and goofy.
But now... they gotta be aggresive to get their class up.

If anything, the objective doesnt matter. It's just a motivation.
But.. wraiths on RP in my opinion should have free points on spending communicative skills.

I don't think this is a problem.

We have not enough murder on RP. And wraith, with wizards and gangs, are among the antags where enough chaos is happening for a pre 90-min shuttle call. And i think this is a good thing we should build upon.
