About giving more creatures (and even humans) walk cycles
#1
This is somthing I've been thinking about for the past week or so and I feel like it might be interesting to implement. However I have a feeling it might end up cursed or the community will dislike it, what are your thoughts on it?

Edit: also it might be a huge project to work on if started and also a huge pain if we include humans due to needing to animate all clothing items aswell

it's a lot of spritework, is the main thing. humans and variations of them seem especially hellish to do this for, since you need to account for clothing layers and other overlays, and there's only so much a displacement algorithm can do without looking kinda dogshit

In my opinion, that idea sounds bad. The fact that there are no walk cycles is what makes ss13...ss13! also im CERTAIN that no matter what you do, it will look terrible.

I definitely wouldn't want someone to work on that, just because i feel it would be a LOT of work on something which ultimately wouldn't really mesh well with SS13. My main thought is its lots of work to change something people like or that people have no issues with.

personally id prefer all that spritework to be focused on other things that are more gameplay oriented (i.e. new toys for robotics or somethin) but obv if its something you personally wanna do then go ahead. tho keep in mind you would have to make sprites for every single suit, overalls, shoes, and probably gloves in the game and if you miss even a single one and people start sliding around again when wearing something then its gonna be really jarring
