Reason for application:
The reason for my application is that i enjoy playing security a lot, getting to interact with antags and dying in funny ways to their devious plans, and believe playing HoS would be really fun, with being a bigger target for antagonists, and also being more of a coordinator of the security team, ensuring everyone is doing well.
Security experience (300 word minimum):
I have been playing security for quite awhile, sometimes I take breaks from it and play other roles just to chill, like staff assistant or engineering, but security is definitely one of my most played roles. I have improved from my last application by handling antagonists with more leeway, taking into account what's going on the current shift, and trying to ensure the round stays fun for everyone, both crew and antagonist alike, like if someone is doing a gimmick with a bowling kit, turning the station into a bowling alley, not taking their bowling suit, but rather just confiscating some of the balls if they used it to assault the crew, that way they could grow bowling melons as replacement balls, or steal the balls back from contraband or have spare balls stashed away. I have also improved in my leadership skills, communicating with my team, when I have one, as much as possible, communicating arrests and current suspicions. I also believe it's important to communicate with the antagonists, if you're arresting someone, let them know why and what not, try to get their side of the story, engage with them so the arrest isn't the end of the fun, but part of it. I have also started trying to help out my team more, trying to help new officers and assistants learn how to use secmate and other security related things, letting them know I'm fine with them asking anything, and willing to teach them anything they might be unsure about, also making sure they're enjoining themselves as well. Overall, I have been having a lot of fun interacting with the antagonists and with my teams, and security remains one of the most fun roles to me, and possibly one of the roles you can get the most interaction with everyone with, both crew and antagonists alike.
Answer two or more of the following:
What advice would you give to other sec players?
Don't get too absorbed into "being an officer", even though you're security, you can hang out with crew, do silly things and have fun. Play around with the clown, have a disarm intent fight, slip on banana peels and slip people on banana peels. Remember, its a videogame and the most important part is to have fun.
What was one of your favorite security moments? (Either playing as a sec officer or interacting with one)
Recently I had a really fun shift where a clown traitor had bought a cloaking device, at first they were just being silly dragging objects around pretending to be a ghost, and stealing shoes and what not, I went along with it yelling about ghosts and also being goofy. Later they started escalating their crimes more, and eventually captain wanted them arrested and their cloaker taken, we manage to arrest the clown, but they keep breaking out of the brig and trying to get the contraband locker, calling it their "toy box", heh really funny part, they almost manage to get AI to open it by convincing the AI contraband was a toybox and not a contraband locker, as we had only ordered the AI to not open contraband to the clown, not his toybox. After a lot of back and forth with the clown breaking into security and attempting to steal the locker, later they manage to stealthily rogue the AI by being goofy and pretending to be just loitering near upload, actually fooled all of us, and manages to get back their cloaker from contraband. Overall, it was a very fun shift, had a lot of funny and fun interactions with the clown, loved it.
Answer one or more of the following fun questions (because it's important for the HoS to be fun):
Write a poem to convey your thoughts on security/NanoTrasen/space/bees/anything related to SS13.
What's a security gimmick that you've ran or wanted to run?
Hotdog security, every officer wearing a hot dog costume. Quite a plain gimmick, but I think it would look really funny.
