Gas Mask QoL reduction

A minor suggestion.

Equippingna gas mask should lower stamina. Taking it off could give it back. Respirators restrict breathing. Reducing the quality of breathing, i feel, would be a reasonable way to balance them a little bit.

Gas mask is great tool in combat without no Debuff however in general there is no harm on it but it just slightly hard to find.and also normally people use this mask to protect identity while able to breath via internal .
However there is some more benefit that over than regular breath mask which is Protect fro gas chemical (without need internal ).can damage reduction.
To balance them I suggest to make gas make can filter the smoke gas only few time use and need to refill filter after it runout.which is more logical use and can nurf this item.without effect gameplay

I‘d find it more reasonable for the buff to reduce stamina regeneration, instead of the max stamina, since you don‘t really limit your maximal stamina by wearing a respirator, but make (re-)gaining it harder.

As long as nukeop gas masks aren't affected, sure.

That idea completely misses it's goal.

Non-antags don't care about a stam debuff. Antags become easier to stun-crit, which they don't trally need to.

We need to make gas masks -much- more rare. At best they should be as rare as true sunglasses.

Id be find with reduction of stam regen i guess. Also gas masks are as big a buff for non antags as the are antags. The big scary hell smoke isnt very threatening wheh the thing you pick up off the floor blocks it.

I think the "scary" gas mask, ntso and nukie, maybe even the ntsc masks could not be reduced. Just the regular one..i juat feel like "something" is missing. Total gas immunity is really powerful

I fully agree there. I said that a stamina or stamina regen debuff is mostly irrelevant to non-antags.

In general, i would like to see giving gas masks a hard hit. But i would tend to try to use one which makes it less good for non-antags, because current gas mask availability leaves non-skinpen poisons in an odd place. And i feel like cutting down on their availability would solve that well enough.

Even if you aren't an antag you probably want to have the freedom to move around as quickly as you want, so the stamina penalty might work. But still rather than a debuff they really could just be made much rarer, in some maps maints is just full of them. It also does have a feel of "NT cutting cost" which really love.

I feel like some minor visibility loss could do the trick, similar to how the steel masks work atm. It's relevant to non-antags, but it doesn't disrupt most non-combat related activities. Want to work on lab stuff? Doesn't change much. Want to use it everywhere you go for no reason? Yeah that might be a problemo. (obviously not applicable to nukie masks and the like)

If a negative gets added to gas masks i'd like to be able to remove the filter and wear it just for the aesthetic, at least for cap/sec/sci

i'd be up for removing the gas masks lying around in maints

I do like the idea of nerfing the gas mask with movement speed down or reduced visibility.
The fact remains you only have to wear it to cancel out most gasses.
