Picking up phones should kick people off the network

so I know it's an intranet, but follow me here.   The idea is NT is too cheap to spring for broadband.   SO say I pick up  medical phone.... til I put it back down genetics or some random computer in medbay doesn't work (even nanomeds).

"God damnit Captain I can't call the shuttle you kicked me off the net put up the damn bridge phone"

added fun, computers have a small chance to play the classic modem connection sound and won't connect til the sound file finishes.   Just an idea.
