I asked this in a mentorhelp and there aren't any official rules on the wiki.

The mentor said there aren't any official rules and its up to interpretation.

I'm fine with playing calvinball but it's really confusing when the cards specify some mechanic of the game that is entirely ambiguous in what it means.

Knowing the admin that wrote them and having played plenty of CCGs, they're meant to be played as something resembling Yu Gi Oh.

That said, the card text is also purposely ambiguous and sometimes contradictory/poor. The fact that no cohesive rule set seems possible is part of the joke, which is very true to the YGO anime

i have loose ideas for an actual functional card game version of this
but it would likely be less funny since it goes from funny joke to unfunny in game card game
