All these threads about changelings has gotten lings on the mind for me. Here's a list of ideas:
Spider Sting: Sting a victim, crating 3 to 5 spiders of the eye. hand, and leg varieties created simultaneously from their corpse. This renders their body unable to provide DNA points if absorbed.
Lesser Form Absorb: The Ling can absorb a lesser creature like a monkey, mouse, bee, etc. fully devouring them but with no DNA points gained. However, this form is added to a list of forms they can choose to take while using the transform into lesser form ability
Grow Tendril: Creates an additional limb. Instead of being controlled by the player, the limb is controlled by a member of the hivemind and functionable even if the Ling goes unconscious. Uses DNA points while active
Blood Boil: A much higher cost than a headspider, a post death-ability that explodes your body, killing or seriously injuring anyone nearby
Adaptive camouflage: Changes the player's sprite to a transparent filled outline of them, making them much harder to see with the naked eye. Worn items are not effected.
