i think itd be neat if when you run out of ammo on revolvers/shotguns you could just resort to pistolwhipping/otherwise bash peoples heads in

I'm pretty sure that hitting someone with a gun on help/disarm intent will smack them with the item. Not exactly a pistol whip, but it can do some damage.

It does do damage, but you'd get more damage done by just punching them.

I suggest a compromise, can we at least make it give pistol whipping flavor text when meleeing with a pistol? Doesn't have to do anything differently, but would be nice.

pistolwhipping would be based off of the size of the gun you are using

a .22 pistol would not do as much damage as clobbering someone in the face with a .357 but would also cost less stamina to hit than the .357

when it comes to shotguns, it should be a two-handed affair

striking someone with a shotgun should do lots of damage at the cost of a lot of stamina per swing
