Usual character name: Bob Chicken/Long-Suffering Bob
BYOND username: James_TheSnail
Discord username (if you are on our discord): fredthemed
Recommended by (if applicable): Charles Evans
Goon servers you play: Heisenbee
Reason for application: I want to be a positive influence on classic security, to help new seccies learn the role and its importance. As well I want to produce more engaging rounds for everyone as a whole and I believe I can better do that as Head of Security.
Security experience (300 word minimum):
I think I have somewhere around 200-150 hours in sec, I believe that I treat antags fairly and do my best to improve the qualtity of the rounds for everyone involved in them. I try my best to communicate as best I can with my team and help other security players who may be struggling whenever I can.
Whenever I see gimmicks I try my best to encourage them but when people start dying I'm ready to give an appropriate sentence taking into consideration the round time, their gear, how many people were attacked, how many antags there are, and the general vibes of the round. I also try my best not to make overcoming security an impossible task, its not fun when sec just immediately cripples the antags, like an arcfiend gets found and instantly borged, thats no fun for anyone, so I try my best to keep the fun alive, I prefer to think of security as some kind of final boss to be overcome or persistant thorn, more than the anti-antag.
I feel like I am a good team player and I try to support any other sec as much as I can, from responding to their callouts to helping them recieve treatment, I am confident in my ability to support my team and help them as well.
I feel like I'm well-versed enough in security now to the point where I can now help teach security to newer players, such as sentencing, leniency, and how to be good member of security altogether.
I understand the mechanics behind combat and (for the most part) proform well in combat against others, I'm far from the most robust but I think I have a decent grasp on combat and how to stay alive during dangerous situations to preform my duty as a member of security.
I also try my best to be social with the crew and bring the moments of levity that I love this game so much for!
Answer two or more of the following:
BE MORE CONFIDENT!!! One of my biggest hurdles when I first started playing security was that I was terrified thinking that the moment I made the slightest mistake I would ruin the round for everyone and be instantly perma-banned with no appeal, but fuck ups are part of playing security, you're not always going to defeat the nukies single-handedly and you're not meant to. No one else is expecting you to be the best secoff ever, and sometimes when the antag pulls off their rampage it makes for a better round, not to say you shouldn't try your best to arrest them and swirlie them for their crimes. But its okay to feel comfortable playing sec, you don't always need to be hyper-viligant and on-edge.
One of my all time favourite moments was, if I'm remembering it correctly, I was the nukie commander and I challenged the HoS to a boxing match to decide the fate of the station, and I won, of course the crew didn't honour the deal and I think lost? But even so I really enjoyed the bit.
Dream Bee is sleepy
Changelings are creepy
Security was round-removed
The clown's AA request was disapproved
I was never taught proper othoepy
And the shuttle remains unmoved
I've kinda wanted to run an urban camouflage gimmick where I create piles of loose garbage around the station, disguise myself as a lowly staffie, and hide among the garbage with lockers to ambush the ner-do-wells

- What was one of your favorite security moments? (Either playing as a sec officer or interacting with one)

- What game improvements or changes do you think would benefit security players?
- Describe any differences in your playstyle when part of a full security team and when being the only security officer.
- Write a poem to convey your thoughts on security/NanoTrasen/space/bees/anything related to SS13.
