Cuff ""Nerf""

Should we punish the traitor from taking security's stuff even more?
We gotta get SOME LEE-WAY.

Not exactly true on the "No traitor has cuffs" part, traitors have access to duct tape, it functions basically like a zip tie, although I do still agree with most of the things the people said in this thread, the only people using cuffs should be security and if a traitor gets their hands on them its sometimes security's fault (they could always just take from a sec outpost locker)

It is worth mentioning several station prefabs spawn with cuffs. Several science stations spawns with steel cuffs as well.

Thats what antags are supposed to do? Most antags work via "cheap kills" by long lasting or instant stuns/disables. Vamp, changeling and a good chunk of traitor weaponry work that way.

Keep in mind, if someone took the time to cuff you, they also have the time to feed you a pill that will certainly kill you. Or place a black powder pipebomb on your sorry ass. Actually, feeding kuru or other deathchem mix pills is faster than cuffing.

Using cuffs is the slower, mercifull alternative to killing/round removing you.

You'd not be completely helpless, but would still be fairly useless at fighting back against someone and still be controllable.
And being able to still use items opens the door to creative solutions like sawing your own arm off to remove cuffs.

tbh i vibe with this a lot. if you aren't being pulled you're still hugely restricted. also worth considering making it so blocking with cuffs causes them to break if people are wailing on you.

If you make yourself unbriggable you are just going to be permastunned or bashed to death while security determines a way to make you briggable.

If an antagonist wants you dead they aren't going to take the time to cuff you when they could instead do any number of things to kill you, being cuffed is a mercy that lets you scream for help for longer.

Being cuffed is meant to be a lose condition, start begging for mercy if its an antag, start cooperating if its sec.

I'd have to agree with rats here.

This happens to vampires and wizards. Its happening more to lings now that the primary way of dealing with them was removed from security access.

If we can't arrest people we'll just kill them.

I don't think arresting vamps, lings or wizards is really the recommended way to take them down. Just like trying to arrest syndies. It's only something you try to do if you are trying to style on them. Otherwise you are just trying to take them down anyway you possibly can to protect the crew.

My opinion on cuffs after thinking on it is that its completely fine when sec uses them, but it can feel frustrating when antags use cuffs. I think just making the time it takes to cuff without sec training a lil bit longer would be fine. Would give more value to getting duct tape

Generally execution required arrest on rp at least. We don't usually beat people to death in the hall.  Even in classic its better to arrest and kill to be able to secure contraband/search/prefent people from stealing gamer gear off the dead antang.

Implying arresting is "styling on people" is, frankly, baffeling and a bit of a strong negative towards security in general which in turn makes me doubt the goodwill of your contribution to this specific discussion.

litterly. If someones a powergaming antagonist. Cuffing them is not easy. Its 100x safer and easier to just lethal them, but thats no fun. Nerfing cuffs to the point where they arent an instant win basically only leaves the lethal option.

Does RP have Vamp, ling, wizard, and syndies now?
I thought those weren't in RP server because they don't really work well with escalation RP.
Also I specifically stated those antags because they are nonhuman(well syndies are human but they also can explode at anytime), and also don't really have "gear" to steal from them. Plus arresting vampires and lings only lead to one outcome. Grinder or Church.
