Right now it puts the light at like, three squares ahead of you which is basically worthless, especially for ghost drones, minisubs, and everything else without a pda light.

It's not bad with a PDA on as well. Maybe adjust the flashlight to cast more light around itself as well?

We could make the flashlight give you both a directional light and a simple light (what PDAs have).

i increased the brightness of the squares immediately in front of the directional light source a little. let me know if it needs more adjusting
