You can see whether water is "shallow", "Knee-deep", "Chest-high", or "very deep" if you examine it. Coloring those tiles differently depending on the depth would make it much easier to follow visually. Maybe make the current color "shallow" and progressively more blue as it gets deeper.
I dunno if that's possible within the code.

Darker- Not Bluer, because you can drown in things that aren't water.

Maybe like, the deeper the flooding, the more it effects the color of the things in it?
Like, shallow fluid leaves a sprite unchanged, while deep fluid colors the sprites within it the color of the fluids flooding the area

I'm down for this, right now it's hard to tell if a fluid is only a thin layer on the ground or if I'll drown in it without internals.
