Character Setup UI

I've drawn some simplistic initial designs.
Going for a dossier theme.
Oddly fitting that NT would keep track of employee underwear colour.
Probably sticking with the top design using pages instead of a scrollbar.

This is a high quality post, most people just point out a problem with no solution in mind or use vague, airy language which is not particularly useful to actual development.

I definitely like the design here, but I think it is missing where to put the more boring nitty gritty aspect of the character setup screen.

The thing is, this is important information that should be easy to see, but right now looks real cluttered. I'm not really much of a design guy so I can't even guess really at how to make it look better (well not for free), but I can say that moving those highlighted sections into their own popups is definitely not a good way to do it. I don't like that both occupation/traits/spacebux are their own popup menus either.

I agree. Separate windows may give claraity but makes the UI unwieldy.
My intention is to use one window but allow transition between sections. Each section would be one page in this context.
Ideally this provides room for expansion later on, such as incorporating the occupations into a page.

Current pages:
  • Appearance
  • Attributes (In-game info like age)
  • Preferences (Meta info like HUD)
