Try smacking a monkey with a folding chair. Their only reaction to this is to take damage and wander around. Doesn't even aggro nearby monkeys either!
Might be because the chair isn't supposed to deal damage, but earlier today I whacked a monkey into crit with one. I was wearing boxing gloves and aiming for its head if that means anything. I tried assaulting one with a flashlight, another item rated to do no damage, but it had no effect.
